Youth Mental Health Worker - Oxford

A lovely specialist school in Oxford are on the hunt for a Youth Mental Health Worker. They are looking for a compassionate individual to join their team ASAP.

You role as a Youth Mental Health Worker will involve a lot of duties and responsibilities but most importantly you will be responsible for supporting the students. At the very basis this will involve supporting them through their mental health difficulties in conjunction with their school work.

The students in this school struggle with a rage of additional needs that badly affect their mental health and ability to cope with their emotions in healthy ways.

Many have been diagnosed with Autism and other co-existing disorders. While battling with learning difficulties, these young people also have to deal with stress and anxiety, often related to school avoidance and a tough family background.

As a Mental Health Worker, you will have the opportunity to support these young people and give them the tools they need to thrive at school. Your duties will consist of various classroom duties, such as:

Helping set up for lessons, helping tidy away lesson materials, providing general classroom supervision and behaviour management. Whilst helping these young people achieve their full potential in the classroom, you will also be assisting with helping them regulate their emotions, process their thoughts and feelings and help to de-escalate any behaviour.

Your positive outlook and a compassionate spirit are 2 qualities that will ensure you will thrive in this role. Additionally the supportive team at this wonderful school will ensure that each student has the opportunity to live their best life and grow not only academically but also personally.
