Children & Young Persons Drug and Alcohol Worker Vacancy

Exciting permanent opportunities have arisen for passionate and enthusiastic individuals to be part of a children and young people’s substance use services in Oxfordshire. You will provide support and build resilience with children and young people whose parents or other family members use drugs or alcohol.

Location: Hybrid working, travelling around Oxfordshire

1x role based out of Didcot hub

1x role based out of Cowley hub

Hours: 35 hours per week

Shifts: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm – with flexibility

Length: Permanent

Responsibilities:

  • Provide a range of tailored interventions with young people depending upon their presenting drug of choice, complexity and need
  • Responsible for holding and managing a case load of children & young people
  • Provide specialist assessments, care planning, and deliver evidence based psychosocial brief and structured interventions through one-to-one appointments, groups, and online
  • contribute to reducing the negative impacts of drugs and alcohol on children and young people’s educational achievement, longer term employment prospects and their overall health and wellbeing
  • Work effectively with a range of partner agencies to deliver a quality service, focussed on achieving positive change

Essential Requirements:

  • Experience of direct and focused client work with vulnerable young people
  • Experience of completing and reviewing care plans and risk assessments
  • A full UK Driving Licence with access to a car
