Mental Health Assistant

A lovely school in the heart of Oxford are looking for a Mental Health Assistant to join their team starting as soon as possible.

What the role entails as a Mental Health Assistant:

  • Assisting students who are having a difficult time with processing their emotions and struggling with their mental health
  • These struggles stem from childhood trauma, stress, anxiety and depression
  • These children need a positive and encouraging individual to come in and support them and their needs
  • You will be setting good examples and help them to process their emotions and trauma in a healthy way
  • You may also help around the classroom with general duties such as helping set up for lessons, tidy up after lessons are done and manage general classroom behaviour

The ideal Mental Health Assistant:

  • Key personality traits - caring, compassionate and patient
  • You will also be proactive and be able to adjust your approach to meet the needs of the children you will be helping
  • You will have an enhanced DBS Certificate or be willing to apply for one
  • You will have some experience working with children in some capacity

Graduates are more than welcome to apply. This will also be a wonderful position for those looking to become a Psychologist, Counsellor or Educational Psychologist.
