Scientific Software Engineer

This role is ideal for a highly capable Software Engineer who enjoys working at the intersection of hardware and software, further developing prototype products from the ground up.

Joining a well-funded start-up, you will be a key hire in the development of an innovative technology, playing a crucial role in shaping the companys software capabilities. This is a unique opportunity to work alongside a team of brilliant engineers and scientists while driving forward the software development of cutting-edge instrumentation.

The companys technology integrates Mechanical, Electronics, Software, Optics, and Fluidics elements, with a strong focus on real-time environmental monitoring. Your primary responsibility will be to take ownership of the software stack, refining and improving existing code while developing new solutions for future applications.

We are looking for someone with:
  • Ideally circa 5+ years of experience in software development, with flexibility for exceptional candidates.
  • Experience working with software for instrumentation or hardware, including control & data acquisition.
  • Knowledge of specific programming languages is flexible, whether this be Python, C++, Rust etc.
  • A Scientific background is a plus but not essential.

Location: Oxford
Salary: Up to £65K
Hybrid working is available for this position. Employee share option available.
