Teaching Assistant

Job Type: Fulltime (8:30am – 4pm)

Salary: £12.82 - £14 per hour

Reed Education are looking for a Teacher Assistant to join one of our SEND Secondary Schools in the OX3 area!

The school provides exceptional support to students aged 11 – 16 years with a range of Special Educational Needs and Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) challenges. Each student has an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP) to identify and support their induvial needs to ensure that each student can thrive.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside class teachers to plan and deliver activities.
  • Support students with routines, transitions, and behaviour management.
  • Build strong and positive relationships with students, to promote high self-esteem, independence, and social inclusion.
  • Observe and monitor student progress, attainment, and barriers to learning.

Skills and Requirements:

  • Experience within a school environment or other educational setting.
  • Experience working with children with complex special needs including ASD and SEMH.
  • Experience planning and delivering learning activities.
  • Good ICT skills, particularly in using ICT to support learning.
  • Must drive or have access to personal transport, as the location can be tricky to get to via public transport.
