A Specialist Needs School in Oxford are looking for a Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join their team and make a difference in the lives of pupils with autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties. This is more than a job; this is an opportunity to inspire and empower young minds, while gaining valuable experience working in a school setting.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting and nurturing the students on their educational journeys. You will help inspire and motivate the pupils to learn, whilst also building their self-esteem, independence and social skills, to help provide them with the foundation to thrive after they leave school.

All the pupils in this school have additional learning needs - this includes autism, learning difficulties, speech and communication challenges and physical disabilities. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will vary, from providing 1:1 support during class activities to assisting with behaviour, and helping with lunch duty. Personal care, such as feeding or toileting may also be required. You will need to have a genuine passion for working with children with additional learning needs.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Psychology or Criminology Graduate to put their understanding of developmental delay, atypical behaviour, neurodiversity and mental health to practical use. You will also gain invaluable experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, such as occupational therapists, speech therapists, and psychologists, opening up career opportunities in the future.

If you are patient, empathetic and are committed to creating a safe and fun learning environment then you are just the person the school are looking for.
