SEN Teaching Assistant

A warm and welcoming school in Oxford are on the search for a 1:1 Support Assistant to join their team starting as soon as possible.

Your role as an SEN Teaching Assistant:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant your main role and duty will be to provide support to those children who are facing learning difficulties. You will engage with them and help them access their education in different ways. You will become a pillar of support for these children and help them to reach their academic milestones. You will also support the class teacher and help with the general running of the classroom. You may also be asked to provide additional support with class outings and help supervise outdoor activities.

The children in this school have struggles with many learning difficulties. These are often Autism Spectrum Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Dyslexia, Speech Impediments and Asperger's. Your role as a Special Educational Needs Assistant will mostly revolve around supporting those students that struggle with these difficulties and ensuring that they can access their education in the same way as their peers.

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant:

The successful SEN Support Assistant will be an individual who is calm, works well under pressure and has a positive and encouraging personality. You will ideally have some experience working with children and be eager to learn.
