A specialist school for young people with Mental Health needs in Oxford is currently recruiting for a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant to join them ASAP. The school cater for children and young adults who have been excluded from mainstream education or are in a transition period before finding a place in a specialist setting. Many of the students have trauma, SEN, behavioural disorders as well as other mental health issues. This is an exciting opportunity for a graduate or experienced teaching assistant to develop their experience with Special Educational Needs and Behavioural Needs. A graduate with a degree graded 2:2 or above is ideal for this role and some previous experience working with SEN children is desirable. The position will be working 1:1 with pupils with Special Needs and Challenging Behaviour in the school. The Learning Support Assistant will have the opportunity to work closely with children who have mental health difficulties, display challenging behaviour and have learning disabilities such as Autism. Degrees of particular interest would include Psychology and Criminology backgrounds.

This SEN school are looking for a confident, dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants who are enthusiastic and passionate about their input into a child's education. Ideally, the successful SEN Teaching Assistant will have excellent behaviour management skills and desirably some form of restraint training.
