Statistician, Modelling Engineer, Statistical Modelling, Mathematical Modelling, COR5441

A Statistician with a strong mathematically modelling and optimisation background is required to join my client, an a pioneering research company based in Oxford!

The Role
As the Mathematical Modeller you will implement optimisation techniques, in order to capture complex, real world issues within our client's vital forecasting models. Working closely with other areas of the business, the Statistician will drive forwards software development best practices within the team, with a strong focus on meeting client's requirements.

The Company
Founded by a group of University of Oxford academics, the Mathematical Modeller will be joining an incredibly exciting research company. Based in central Oxford, their office is easily accessible by public transport. The company have fully embraced flexible working, offering a hybrid working pattern with three days a week in their Oxford office.

What's Required of the Statistician?

  • Strong background in mathematical modelling, educated to a degree level within a relevant discipline
  • Commercial experience with Python development
  • Experience gained in field of optimisation, ideally including linear programming, dynamic programming and mixed-integer programming (MIP)
  • Great problem-solving skills and keen team player
