Quantity Surveyor / Estimator - Steel Buildings

My client is a company that provides end-to-end solutions for a wide range of clients, and they’re looking for a talented Quantity Surveying professional who can bring value to their projects through expert management of contractual and commercial aspects. With this business, your experience in Quantity Surveying and Estimating will be highly valued as you contribute to the delivery of top-tier steel-framed buildings for some of the region's leading businesses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost Estimation: Accurately prepare detailed cost estimates based on design drawings, specifications, and client needs, covering labour, materials, equipment, and overheads.
  • Tender Preparation: Create comprehensive tender documentation, including bills of quantities (BOQ) and detailed specifications for subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Contract Administration: Draft and manage contracts with clients and subcontractors, ensuring clear terms related to scope, payment schedules, timelines, and responsibilities.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial risks that could impact the project, such as material price fluctuations or delays that increase costs.
  • Cost Control: Conduct thorough cost analysis and maintain cost control throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications:

  • Quantity Surveying Qualification or substantial experience in the field.
  • Knowledge of the steel frame and steel building sector is highly desirable.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in Quantity Surveying or Estimating.
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts and regulations.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure smooth project delivery.
