About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Design Technology Teacher to join our vibrant [department/school name] team. The successful candidate will inspire students to develop their creativity, technical skills, and problem-solving abilities through engaging lessons in Design Technology. This role offers the opportunity to teach across a range of disciplines, including Resistant Materials, Product Design, Graphics, Textiles, and Systems & Control, depending on your expertise and the school’s curriculum.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons that cover the national curriculum and meet the diverse needs of students at [key stages, e.g., KS3, KS4, and KS5].

  • Maintain and manage workshop resources, tools, and machinery, ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations.
  • Contribute to the development of the Design Technology curriculum, incorporating current trends and advancements in technology and design.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages all students to engage and excel in Design Technology.
  • Organize and participate in extracurricular activities, such as clubs, competitions, or design showcases, to enrich the student experience.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the department and school to support cross-curricular projects and initiatives.
Requirements

Essential:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • A degree or relevant qualification in Design Technology, Engineering, Product Design, or a related field.
  • Proven experience teaching Design Technology at [insert key stages].
