Routes into Teaching
No teaching experience? No problem! We work with multiple schools in and around Oxted that provide routes into teaching:
- School-Centered Initial Teacher Training (SCITT):
- Train directly in a school environment in Oxted while earning a salary.
- Gain hands-on experience with students from day one.
- Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE):
- One-year course combining academic study with classroom practice.
- Leads to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and internationally recognised credentials.
- Apprenticeship Route:
- Earn while you learn with a teaching apprenticeship.
- Work in a school while gaining QTS over one to two years.
- AO (Assessment Only) Route:
- Assessment Programme that takes up to 12 weeks to gain QTS.
- Must have some teaching experience
