We invite you to join our dedicated team at a well-established SEN school in Oxted as a Mental Health Assistant

About the Role- Mental Health Assistant:

We are looking for a Mental Health Assistant to join our school in Oxted, which provides tailored education and support for primary and secondary age students with moderate learning difficulties, including Autism, ADHD, and cognitive needs. You will work closely with our experienced team of educators, therapists, and support staff to help our students develop their behavioural, social, and communication skills. Learning is encouraged using visual, aural and kinesthetic methods in small, personal learning environments.

Key Responsibilities- Mental Health Assistant:

  • Provide 1-1 support to students, helping them develop social skills, self-regulation, and emotional resilience.
  • Collaborate with Speech and Language Therapists and Art Therapists to integrate therapies into the student's learning experience.
  • Contribute to the development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students
  • Monitor and track the progress of students' development, ensuring their needs are met in a supportive and nurturing environment.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the planning and delivery of intervention programmes.
  • Help identify and implement strategies to improve mental health and well-being within the school community
