The school is based in Oxted and provides a unique, specialist environment that closely fits the needs and challenges that the students face. The school offers a highly specialised curriculum which aims to ensure all pupils can reach their potential aswell as having a hands on, engaging experience.

They are aslo one of very few schools that have a number of animals in the school grounds that the students help to look after; goats, sheep, chickens and alpacas. They also have several staff dogs in school, these help students to manage their anxiety in the classroom and dog walking at break times is offered as a reward for good behaviour. Students have the opportunity to collect fresh eggs every morning, these are sold to staff and the wider school community to raise funds for animal feed.

Classes range from 6-8 in size with a focus on implementing effective communication techniques

Therapy rooms and designated areas for specialist support from a range of therapists including SALTs, Occupational therapists, psychologists and counsellors

An Integrated Trauma Informed Approach and extensive 1-1 support for every pupil

Specialist communication methods such as Makaton and PECS

Focus on preparation for GSCE subjects and building a curriculum that works for their individual needs

The school likes to focus on LSAs who know their objectives and who would like to continue their journey to become a speech and language therapist
