Project Engineer required for our well-established renewable energy company, established in 2010, delivering wind turbine and solar PV projects across the UK.

The majority of work is based in Cornwall, but you will be expected to travel further afield and you may be required to stay away, so being happy with this is a necessity. The projects will be large commercial projects, including manufacturer settings.

Project Engineer Salary & Benefits

  • £24,000 - £30,000 DOE
  • Vehicle provided when travelling to sites from the office
  • Working hours 9:00 - 5:00 Mon - Fri
  • 22 days + 8BH

Project Engineer Job Overview

You will be required to work on their upcoming wind farm projects, working in the technical team, you will provide high quality engineering support to projects in the Development, Construction and operational phases.

  • Production of optimised wind farm site layout drawings, access modifications, swept path analysis, legal and planning drawings
  • Estimating and tracking project costs, aiming to reduce cost through design.
  • Assisting with projects in development and under construction, striving to achieve the Highest Health, Safety and Quality standards
  • Identifying and reducing risk through design, ensuring projects under development are both practically and financially feasible
  • Provision of technical input to early stage and pre planning projects
  • Procurement and coordination of 3rd party technical services
  • Support wider improvement/development of design processes and procedures.

Project Engineer Job Requirements

  • Highly proficient in the use of AutoCAD and Vehicle Tracking software
  • Basic knowledge of onshore wind development and construction processes
  • Methodical, accurate and detail focussed approach.
  • Awareness of CDM regulations
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritise and manage a demanding workload
  • Flexibility to travel throughout the UK
  • In depth knowledge of transport and construction methods (desirable)
  • Familiarity with wind farm BoP (Balance of Plant) and TSA (turbine supply agreement) (desirable)
  • Civil3D and Infraworks proficiency (desirable)
  • Surveying/setting out experience (desirable)
