Credit ControllerPaignton, Devon£28,000 - £29,000 per annum

Our client, a leading business services organisation, is currently seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join their dynamic finance team on a full-time, permanent basis.

As the Credit Controller, you will be instrumental in overseeing all facets of Credit Control and Sales Ledger function, including ledger management, reconciliations, debt management, and KPI reporting.

The responsibilities:

  • Fully manage the Sales Ledger, including invoicing, credit notes, cash postings, and account reconciliation.
  • Oversee all aspects of Credit Control, from onboarding customers to credit referencing, limit setting, debt collection, and KPI reporting.
  • Manage customer accounts, handling queries, rate changes, fee schedules, and legal debt recovery.
  • Provide regular updates on the Debtor Ledger in meetings with managers.
  • Ensure credit control processes are current, regularly reviewed, and continuously improved.
  • Manage the Purchase Ledger, including invoice processing, payments, and reconciliation.
  • Oversee Fixed Asset Management, including monthly reconciliation and depreciation posting.
  • Manage companywide Petty Cash and support bank account management and cash flow forecasts.

The candidate:

  • Part or fully qualified AAT with experience in financial systems and advanced Excel.
  • Minimum of 2 years in a similar role with strong credit control experience and a solid understanding of double-entry bookkeeping.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy in financial transactions and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively to meet strict deadlines.
  • Flexible and adaptable, able to work effectively both alone and within teams.
