Bookkeeper

Synergise Recruitment are currently recruiting a detail-oriented VAT and Bookkeeping Accountant on behalf of our client. Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate bookkeeping records, including processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and managing financial data.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns in compliance with HMRC regulations.
• Monitor and manage client accounts to ensure timely payment and accurate record-keeping.
• Assist with the preparation of financial reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
• Liaise with clients to resolve queries and provide support regarding VAT and bookkeeping matters.
• Conduct regular reviews of bookkeeping processes to improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Stay updated on changes in VAT regulations and ensure compliance across all accounts.
• Collaborate with the finance team to support month-end and year-end accounting processes.

Requirements:

• AAT qualification or equivalent experience in VAT and bookkeeping.
• Proven experience in a similar role, with a solid understanding of VAT regulations and accounting principles.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage) and MS Office, especially Excel.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial data management.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and colleagues.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
