Food Technologist sought for seafood company in Torbay

At TQR were delighted to be representing a fantastic, people-centric business thats been sourcing, processing, and supplying the highest quality product for 20 years and is set for continued growth over the next few years!With the expansion of its technical team, the company is now looking for a Food Technologist to support the development of products for the retail sector.


This role will suit someone with a genuine passion for their work in the food industry who wants to join a company that values collaboration, mutual respect, accountability and a desire to continuously improve.


It is likely to suit a recent graduate with 0-3 years experience in a similar technical role in high-risk food production.


What youll be responsible for

Creating finished product specifications and managing the specification process for customers, within agreed timescales. You will additionally be a key member of the development team, with responsibility for ensuring all documentation in relation to NPD of products and processes is recorded in-line with customer and BRC requirements. (The company is BRC AA rated).


Your day-to-day duties will include

  • Conducting trials for new products, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to execute successful trials
  • Coordinating with production to ensure seamless integration of new products
  • Maintaining detailed records of trials, NPD and other relevant processes
  • Creating and reviewing product specifications in both the companys own format and across a number of retail specification platforms
  • Ensuring the site stays compliant with retailer quality standards


Candidates who will be a great fit for this role

  • Food Science degree e.g. BSc Food & Nutrition or BSc Food Science & Technology
  • Either recent graduate or 1-3 years experience in a food manufacturing role
  • Self-motivated, inquisitive individuals with a drive for continuous improvement
