Ciqurix is a developer and manufacturer of ground-breaking video fire detection systems.  We are looking to expand our technical team by taking on a system design engineer.  This function is currently shared between other team members, but as we expand we want this to become a dedicated role.  We are a small and friendly team, and we have a modern and flexible approach.  We are ideally looking for someone with a specific skill set and with a fire alarm background, but we highly value team fit and approach, so we are also interested in hearing from people outside our industry who have transferable skills.

Ciqurix is located on the outskirts of Paignton in Devon.  Initially this is an office based role, but once trained and established (approx 3 months) we anticipate this role to be home-based or hybrid, with flexible hours.  There may be occasional travel to customer sites required, especially when initially learning the role (expenses paid).

Main Responsibilities

  • Interpreting customer requirements and using provided information to design the necessary system layout and placement of our video fire detection equipment, meeting the design objective.
  • Sourcing additional information from external sources to support the above.
  • Producing design documentation, exporting coverage plans, and creating detailed system layout information to be supplied to the customer.
  • Supporting the sales team with customer queries post design.

Key Skills & Experience required:

  • Fire alarm background at a technical level
  • Experience of interpreting building plans
  • Experience of design in a 3D environment
  • CCTV design experience is highly advantageous
  • Highly IT literate
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • High attention to detail
  • High level of self motivation

Desirable Skills

  • Experience using JVSG or CCTV-CAD software
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Suite, especially Acrobat
