Founded in 1978, Clark Contracts Ltd is a privately owned main contractor with several operating divisions; Construction, Fit Out, Small Works, Retail, Housing, Maintenance and Manufactured Joinery.?We employ over 220 people with offices in the East and West of Scotland.

As part of our continued growth, we are now seeking a Pre-Construction Manager to support our Construction, Housing and Retail division to deliver largescale projects across the UK.


Role & Responsibilities

As a Pre-Construction Manager, you will be responsible for:

Managing the bid from tender stage through potential pre-construction agreements and to point of contract award.

Reviewing bid documents to develop a bid strategy, to deliver profitable, de-risked, winning bids on time and to the highest quality whilst maintaining external relationships.

Managing the preparation of the tender submissions, to develop a bid response that exceeds our clients expectations including, but not limited to:

Construction methodologies / project buildability / logistical challenges.

Specific technical questions.

Risk register - in conjunction with bid team.

Bid programme.

Site visit reports.

Alternative proposals including value engineering and optioneering.

Prepare for and attend tender interviews.

This will include liaising with supporting departments (marketing, health and safety, environmental, surveying, contracts, design etc.) to allocate resources to specific tasks to ensure quality and tender compliance is achieved.

Liaising with the Estimating department through the bid including.

Review of tender bills, prelims, projects brief etc. to identify both risk and opportunity.

Review of subcontractor and supplier enquiries.

Engagement with key trades - develop relationships with supply chain.

Review and engagement of Design Team.

You will work closely with Contracts, Design, Commercial and Estimating to ensure the commercial viability of contracts.

Develop long-term client relationships through the bid process to assist and create future opportunities.

Location:

This is a full-time, permanent position based at our Head Office in Paisley but due to the nature of the role travel may be required as business needs dictate it.
