Morson are recruiting on behalf of BAE Systems for the following role in Bishopton, please confirm if you would like to be considered. Those with hands on experience ideally from tools/mechanical backgrounds will be considered, if no test technician experience.  Training provided for testing/computer systems aspect of role.Â
This is a 12 month contract initially although likely to be long-term
Shift: Days 06:30 to 14:30 one week (Mon-Friday)Â Â then 13:30 to 23:15 week two (Mon-Thursday -rotated weekly).
Rates inclusive of 23% uplift
£23.83 per hour PAYE plus £3.46 holiday pay/ £30.16 per hour Umbrella
Core duties:
- Functioning within a team to conduct test and evaluation trials
- Interface with both internal and external customers.
- Compliance with pre trials risk assessments to ensure trials are conducted in a safe manner and that all trial specific hazards are identified and controlled.
- Compliance and adherence to SHE legislation.
- Compliance and adherence with the quality management system.
- Responsible for recording of test data and following the relevant test plans.
- Assisting with continuous improvement and performance measurement activities.
- Responsible for maintaining technical competency.
- Responsible for assisting in the delivery of trials within timescale and budget.
PLEASE NOTE - skills and experience listed below is desirable and not essential a training can be provided.
Knowledge of Dynamic testing: including
- Vibration – Sinusoidal, Random, Sine/Random
- Shock/Bump
- Drop/Topple/Horizontal impact/Freefall
- Bounce
- Constant Acceleration
- A knowledge of Climatic testing: Including
- High/Low Temperature
- High/Low Humidity
- Pressure: Altitude/Rapid Decompression
- Experience and a working knowledge of Weapons, Ordnance, Munitions and Explosives (WOME) - desirable not essential
- Ability to understand engineering drawings and customers specification
- An understanding of uncertainty of measurement
- Ability to demonstrate safe working practices.
