Formed in 2003, City Gate Construction (CGC) specialise in construction, refurbishment, fabrication, mechanical and electrical services, new build housing, bespoke joinery, maintenance and regeneration.
With its Head Office in Linwood, CGC employs more than 200 people, with six UK offices.Providing a bespoke service across a range of industries, CGC continue to secure major contracts from housing associations, exclusive private developers and local authorities.
Since its formation, CGC has recruited around 180 Renfrewshire residents and despite the pandemic, CGC have experienced continued grown, boosting an annual turnover this year in excess of 40m. We also continue to recruit apprentices, with 22 currently enrolled across a range of trades including painting and decorating, carpentry and joinery, plumbing and plastering.
We are seeking an experienced Joiner to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out a range of joinery works on sites across Renfrewshire and surrounding areas. You will be working mainly on domestic void properties.
Responsibilities:
- Measuring, cutting, and shaping timber for various joinery works, including door and window frames, stairs, skirting boards, and trim.
- Installing and fitting kitchens and bathrooms.
- Installing work in accordance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Workingwith other tradespeople to ensure that works are completed to the required standards and on time.
- Maintaining accurate records of materials used and works carried out.
Requirements:
- SVQ Level 2 in Carpentry and Joinery
- At least 3 years of experience in a similar role, with a strong focus on maintenance and refurbishment joinery works.
- A background in void or tenanted property would be highly beneficial
- Knowledge of relevant building regulations and standards.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
- A full UK driving license.
