We are very excited to be recruiting for a Head of IT/IT Director for a UK wide organisation that has been a recognised success for over a century, a well-known members organisation with a name and positive reputation across the UK – a key player in local communities and an organisation with a huge historical impact. As Head of IT/IT Director, you will lead the IT function, acting as a key member of the UK senior management team – you will spearhead the strategy and direction of the IT infrastructure and ensure that systems are highly effective and are a major contribution to the organisation achieving its goals. You will lead on data strategy, ensuring compliance with GDPR and data protection regulations is maintained – this will include updating internal policies, managing data risks, and ensuring training is maintained across the organisation to ensure ongoing compliance.Other key elements of the role include building and delivering the IT strategy, keeping a keen eye of emerging technologies that may help the organisation and implementing where appropriate, overseeing the delivery of major projects, delivering information security across the organisation, and managing a small internal team and a wide range of external vendors and delivery partners. This is role is a great opportunity for a Head of IT/IT Director with a demonstrable background in leading the technology function of a medium to large scaled organisation that is looking for a challenge to set a high level of standards at a new organisation, if interested please apply as soon as you can.   • Any degree background in the computing field would be advantageous, as would membership of any professional computing bodies (such as BCS)
  • Extensive background in leading the IT function of a medium to large sized organisation, with strong skills in project management and budget management
  • Data Protection expertise; expert knowledge of GDPR and data protection regulations and implementing data management and data governance processes and procedures that ensure ongoing compliance across an organisation
  • 3rd party and vendor management experience; this will include PQQ, ITT, negotiations, SLA agreement, and ongoing service management
  • Stakeholder management experience
  • Good understanding of technology and solutions across the IT infrastructure space and digital implementation
