We are seeking a skilled and reliable Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating forklifts to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise within our warehouse. This role is crucial in ensuring the efficient handling of materials and maintaining a smooth workflow in shipping and receiving operations.
Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts to load and unload goods from lorries and containers.
- Move materials within the warehouse to designated areas safely and efficiently.
- Conduct regular inspections of the forklift and report any maintenance or repair needs.
- Assist in shipping and receiving tasks, ensuring accurate documentation of all transactions.
- Perform inventory counts and maintain accurate records using a Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for all staff.
- Collaborate with team members to optimise warehouse operations and improve efficiency.
Skills
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse setting.
- Familiarity with shipping and receiving processes, as well as materials handling techniques.
- Strong basic maths skills for accurate inventory management.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the role.
- Mechanical knowledge for basic equipment repair and maintenance tasks.
- Experience with warehouse management systems is advantageous.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
