An Assistant Operations Manager is needed to assist the Operations Manager in the effective management of our clients Linwood site.

Description

  • Drive operational performance ensuring achievement of KPIs and objectives
  • Provide operational reporting, monitoring data to identify trends, issues and opportunities
  • Monitor and effectively manage stock levels on site, proactively ensuring compliance with operating licence and internal thresholds
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and minimise downtime
  • Develop, document and maintain operational procedures
  • Address operational issues and concerns in a timely manner
  • Work in partnership with the Maintenance team to ensure the effective operation of equipment
  • Daily management of the Operational Supervisory team
  • Development of Operational Supervisory team to improve management capability
  • Ensure resource meets operational needs, determining staffing requirements and effectively managing resource allocation
  • Manage the recruitment and effective onboarding of operational employees
  • Ensure employees receive the necessary training to safely fulfil their role, maintaining a robust and documented training schedule

Profile

A successful Assistant Operations Manager should have:

  • IOSH managing safely or above
  • Proven experience in a managerial ideally within the waste/recycling industry
  • Budget / P&L understanding
  • A proven track record of operational success
  • Leadership experience in similar role
  • Previous responsibility for an engineering function or background in engineering
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in using operational management software
