DHL Global Forwarding is seeking candidates with experience in Air or Ocean Freight Forwarding for a role based in the Glasgow area, offering a hybrid working model of 37.5 hours per week from Monday to Friday.

What youll be doing

Liaising with our global teams, suppliers and customers your role will be to manage, from door to door, the global shipments of GE Aerospace engines, while working closely with local DGF stations to ensure they are compliant to the requirements of the Engine Movement Plan.

Responsibilities will include:

Tracking the shipment from its original location all the way to its destination
Ensuring documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant
Pre-shipment quality calls ensuring the shipping plan is defined and in place
Adhering to Customs Compliance procedures and documentation
Being the point of contact between shipper, consignee, DGF teams, suppliers and GE Aerospace

About you

Experience in the Freight Forwarding industry is essential for this role. Interacting with airlines/suppliers youll be confident in negotiating to achieve the best rates. In addition, youll:

Be knowledgeable in exports/imports and related processes
Have Customer Service experience in transport/logistics/freight forwarding
Be self-driven and disciplined with the ability to work independently
Be organised and able to handle change and multi-task
Have strong numerical skills to undertake manual calculations
Be continuous improvement conscious - identifying risk areas
Be able to work cross-functionally and with multiple projects simultaneously
Have a high attention to detail and accuracy
