As a Continuous Improvement Champion, you will be part of a team rolling out an enhanced phase of the internal CI program by collaborating closely with the operational teams from multiple sites in Cornwall, Devon, Dorset and Staffordshire.

The key tasks and your responsibilities:

 

You will be part of the UK Continuous Improvement Team, putting into practice the methodologies in line with the Imerys Production System and taking part in applying it on-site, including:

  • Support implementation using the “sprint” approach.
  • Facilitate the introduction of new practices and digital/non-digital based working tools to improve capabilities of managers and employees at designated sites.
  • Collaborate and work closely with all site organisational levels, from senior management to the shop floor as needed.
  • Support applying full methodology, on-site and hands-on, including Site Engagement and Preparations, Training and Coaching, Work processes and Work environment optimizations and assessing impact of improvements.
  • Program roll-out, which includes reporting, governance meetings and problem-solving (as applicable) related to the programme activities and the adoption of the methodology.
  • Give Continuous Improvement support to other sites as required.

What do we ask in return?

  • Minimum of Green Belt Lean Six Sigma Certification (CSSC) or be working towards this.
  • Continuous Improvement experience in an industrial setting. 
  • Full driving licence.
  • Ability to travel 15% of the time mostly within the UK (Cornwall, Devon and Dorset and occasionally visit other UK sites.)
  • Coach and Train the site team to be able to take over all activities and autonomously apply the continuous improvement methodology.
  • Support sites current state and full potential assessment.
  • Support designing and planning; 1-3 years implementation plan, deriving the scope and targets.
  • Prepare roll out tools (templates, training decks, work environment etc).
  • An engineering or Technical degree is desirable but not essential.
