Are you an experienced, passionate teacher ready to inspire and nurture the next generation of learners? Academics is currently recruiting for a Year 6 Teacher to join a supportive and thriving primary school in Peacehaven. As a Year 6 Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in preparing students for their transition to secondary school, guiding them through their final year of primary education.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Engaging Lessons: Create dynamic, interactive lessons that inspire a love of learning while adhering to the National Curriculum.
  • Student Development: Help Year 6 students develop both academically and personally, preparing them for their SATs and beyond.
  • Assessment & Feedback: Use formative and summative assessments to track and report on student progress, ensuring tailored learning support.
  • Classroom Management: Maintain a calm and focused classroom environment, encouraging positive behaviour and fostering student engagement.
  • Collaboration: Work alongside other teachers and support staff to deliver cross-curricular projects and ensure a well-rounded education.
  • Parental Communication: Regularly update parents on student progress and provide support where necessary.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience: Previous experience teaching Year 6 or in upper primary is highly desirable.
  • Subject Knowledge: A strong understanding of the National Curriculum, with an ability to plan, differentiate and implement lessons effectively.
  • Classroom Management: Strong classroom management skills and a proactive approach to student behaviour.
