Mechanic | Penarth, Wales | Full Time – Monday to Friday | £25,000.00-£30,000.00 per year

This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled Mechanic!

Our client is a family run business, with years of varying experiences and skills.

They are looking for someone like you, who will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining various types of vehicles and equipment.

This is a hands-on role that requires mechanical knowledge and proficiency with both hand and power tools.

Are you the right person for the job?

  • Proven experience as a Mechanic or similar role - up to 4 years' experience in service & repair of vehicles preferred
  • Eligibility to work in the UK and hold a full ‘clean' UK driving licence
  • NVQ in Motor Vehicle Technology (Level 3) or a City & Guilds Level 3 equivalent
  • Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of vehicle systems
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams
  • Must have own tools and a constructive attitude and good timekeeping
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills to effectively communicate with team members and customers
  • Have a passion for keeping up to date with the latest automotive technologies
  • Be able to work on own initiative as well as part of a small team

Good additions to have:

  • MOT licence
  • Experience of servicing and repairing electric and hybrid cars

What will your role look like?

  • General servicing work on cars and light commercial vehicles
  • Tyre fitting
  • Safety inspections and maintenance inspections on light commercial vehicles.
  • General vehicle repairs including gear boxes, clutches, brakes etc
  • Conduct inspections to identify potential problems and recommend necessary repairs
  • Occasionally attending roadside and customer premises for breakdowns and onsite servicing
  • Using diagnostic equipment to problem solve
  • Keep accurate records of all repairs and maintenance performed
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of projects
  • Any other jobs as required by your supervisor within your skill set
