Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and practical Textiles lessons aligned with the national curriculum.
- Teach a range of techniques and processes, from sewing and fabric manipulation to design and project work.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support to enhance their skills.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages creativity, problem-solving, and collaboration.
- Participate in extracurricular activities, school events, and exhibitions to showcase student work and celebrate achievements.
About You
We are looking for a skilled and innovative Textiles Teacher with excellent subject knowledge and a passion for design and education. The ideal candidate will have strong classroom management skills and the ability to inspire students to develop their creative potential.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with specialisation in Textiles or Design Technology.
- Proven experience teaching Textiles or related subjects at secondary school level.
- Strong organisational and interpersonal skills, with a proactive and positive approach to teaching.
- A commitment to fostering student development and encouraging creativity.
- Flexibility and a willingness to contribute to the school’s community and extracurricular programmes.
