Spencer Clarke Group are looking for a Speech and Language Therapist to join our clients multidisciplinary team. As a Band 7 therapist, you will play a key role in providing high-quality care, delivering interventions, and supporting the development of young people with learning disabilities, Autistic Spectrum Condition, and associated communication difficulties.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for young people with language disabilities and communication difficulties, including the use of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems.
  • Work collaboratively with education and care staff, as well as other members of the multidisciplinary team (MDT), to ensure a holistic approach to care.
  • Provide informal and formal training to other professionals and supervise newly qualified therapists and Speech and Language Therapy (SALT) Technicians.
  • Participate in and implement clinical audits, ensuring the delivery of evidence-based practice in all aspects of care.
  • Engage in continuous professional development, working towards Level 7 education, and actively participate in relevant Clinical Excellence Networks (CENs) and Communities of Practice (COPs).

Qualifications and Training:

  • Degree/Diploma in Speech & Language Therapy.
  • Registered member of The Royal College of Speech & Language Therapists and the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Postgraduate interest/experience in autism.
  • Experience in implementing Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) values.

Experience:

  • Proven experience in both NHS and educational settings, working with children and young people with additional needs.
  • Demonstrated experience in supervising newly qualified therapists and working with SALT Technicians.
  • Experience in delivering interventions and overcoming barriers to communication.
  • Knowledge of AAC assessment and implementation.
