1st Line IT Support EngineerPenicuik/Onsite£24,000 - £26,000

As a 1st Line IT Support Engineer, you will be the first point of contact for all IT-related issues. You'll provide efficient and timely support to staff, assisting with troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software problems. You'll also help with the setup and deployment of new IT equipment, as well as maintaining user accounts within an Active Directory environment.

This is a hands-on role in a small team where you'll gain exposure to a wide range of IT issues, helping to keep the internal systems running smoothly.

Main Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage the IT service desk, handling and logging incoming support requests
  • Provide first-line technical support for hardware, software, and network issues
  • Build and deploy new PCs and laptops, and recycle old equipment
  • Support user management within Active Directory (password resets, account setup, etc.)
  • Assist with the installation and setup of PC peripherals
  • Provide basic support for telecoms and VoIP systems
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity issues and escalate when necessary
  • Maintain IT systems documentation and ensure up-to-date records are kept
