Recruit4Staff are proud to represent our client, an internationally renowned construction & civil engineering company in their search for a Shift Engineer to work on their long-term civil engineering & infrastructure project in the North Wales area

For the successful Shift Engineer our client is offering:

  • Salary: up to £45,000 per annum (Negotiable depending on experience & skillset) + shift premium
  • Role will be operating on a 2 shift rotating pattern (start times TBC)
  • Permanent role
  • Company car or car allowance
  • 25 days holiday + Bank holidays

The Role - Shift Engineer

  • To develop work plans, temporary work conception, manage and optimise the construction of TBM-driven tunnels from installation to demobilisation
  • Contribute to the production, review and implementation of Inspection and Test Plans and associated task specific check sheets in line with project QA requirements.
  • To ensure health and safety is given the highest priority in the delivery of the works.
  • To develop work plans, temporary work conception, manage and optimise the construction of TBM-driven tunnels from installation to demobilisation
  • Assist the Sub-Agent in coordination of crane activities including TBM assembly, launch and disassembly in conjunction with Lift Supervisors and Lifting Coordinators.
  • Miscellaneous and ad-hock duties as required by the job and requested by the Sub-Agent/Agent.

What our client is looking for in a Shift Engineer

  • Engineering Degree/Higher National Certificate (HNC) or similar in a construction discipline - ESSENTIAL
  • Substantial experience with onsite experience within the Civil Construction Industry - ESSENTIAL
  • Relevant CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card - ESSENTIAL
  • Good understanding of quality, safety, and environmental methodologies
  • Engineering Degree/Higher National Certificate (HNC) or similar in Tunnelling, Mining, Geotechnical Engineering - DESIRABLE
  • IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health) or SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme) - DESIRABLE
  • Experience in planning and programming within the tunnelling industry - DESIRABLE
