Job Title: Qualified Accountant

Location: Hybrid/office (3 days per week minimum)

Our client, an established accounting agency, is currently seeking a Qualified Accountant to join their team. As a Qualified Accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining financial records for a portfolio of clients and overseeing the workload of the practise team.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Conduct client meetings, both virtual and face-to-face.
  • Provide complex tax advice to clients.
  • Prepare and complete annual accounts.
  • Review and sign off work completed by other members of the accounting team.
  • Deal with complaints and complex client issues.
  • Handle HMRC audits and investigations.
  • Monitor and analyse data related to KPIs.
  • Attend management meetings when required.
  • Foster collaboration within the team to achieve the organisation's goals.
  • Act as an ambassador for the organisation and support its objectives and themes.
  • Commit to continuous professional development and share knowledge with colleagues to help future-proof the organisation.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • ACA, ACCA, or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience with cloud accounting software (FreeAgent, QuickBooks, Xero).
  • Proven background in accounting and managing client portfolios.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Word and Excel.
  • Extensive knowledge of accounting and taxation principles.
  • Advanced understanding of income tax, corporation tax, VAT, and PAYE.
  • Problem-solving abilities and a commitment to delivering professional and accurate service.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong time management skills to meet deadlines.
  • Previous team management experience.
  • Client-focused attitude with commercial awareness.

Desirable Qualifications and Skills:

  • Knowledge of capital gains and inheritance tax.
  • Experience with HMRC audit and investigations.
  • Previous performance management experience.
