Role OverviewAs a Registered Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operation of a residential home, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, child-centred care in a safe and nurturing environment. You will work closely with a dynamic team, including in-house education, psychology, and learning and development professionals, to ensure the best outcomes for the children and young people in our care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the residential home, ensuring high standards of care, safety, and therapeutic support.
  • Create a family-oriented, therapeutic environment in line with our ethos.
  • Collaborate with in-house Education, Psychology, and Learning and Development teams to support the needs of each child and staff member.
  • Work with senior managers, the commissioning team, and directors to assess, plan, and manage placements for young people, aiming for long-term stability where possible.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and safeguarding practices.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and training to staff members.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of individual care plans for each child.

In-house Support Teams

  • Education: Our dedicated education department supports the children in our care, as well as accepting local authority placements.
  • Psychology: Each cluster of homes has a dedicated psychologist who assists with assessments, care plans, and one-to-one support for children, as needed.
  • Learning and Development: Our team supports all in-house training and regulatory qualifications. We have implemented a leadership and management programme to help staff progress, alongside a new therapeutic restraint training programme called +Proactive, which aligns with our therapeutic care model. All staff are therapeutically trained in-house to ensure compliance with our approach.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • Level 4 Children and Young People Practitioner qualification or equivalent
  • At least 2 years’ experience in children’s residential care within the last 5 years.
  • Minimum of 1 years’ experience in a supervisory or leadership role in a care environment.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Full UK driver’s license.
