Lead Platform Engineer - Mainly Remote (1 Day a Month in the Lake District) - Up to £85,000 + Great Benefits

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Platform Engineer to join a thriving financial services organisation in the Lake District undergoing a Cloud Transformation. As the Lead Platform Engineer, you will be pivotal in defining and executing the cloud infrastructure strategy and roadmap. You will oversee the health, stability, performance, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Cloud Platform.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Define and implement the cloud infrastructure strategy and roadmap.
  • Oversee the stability, performance, and maintenance of the cloud platform.
  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers, ensuring best practices are followed.
  • Stay current with industry trends and technologies.
Skills and Experience Required:
  • Azure Expertise: Minimum of 5 years of experience with Azure.
  • Infrastructure as Code: Proficiency with Terraform or BICEP.
  • Cloud Networking: Extensive experience with full cloud networking.
  • Automation Tools: Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Puppet, Chef, or Ansible.
  • CI/CD Practices: Proficiency with CI/CD tools and practices, including GitHub, ADO, Jenkins, TeamCity, and automation techniques.
  • Scripting Languages: Skilled in scripting languages such as Bash, Ruby, or Python.
  • Management Experience: Experience managing small teams and serving as a line manager.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in financial services or other highly regulated environments is a plus.
