We are currently seeking a highly skilled Lead Platform Engineer to join a successful financial services organisation in the Lake District going through a Cloud Transformation. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the health of the businesses Cloud platform engineering discipline. This role will involve defining the cloud infrastructure strategy and roadmap, as well as overseeing the stability, performance, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the Cloud Platform.

Lead Platform Engineer (Azure) - Mainly Remote - 1 Day a month in the Lake District - Up to £85,000 + Great Benefits

You will have line manager responsibility and should have experience managing small teams.

Skills Required:

- 5 Years experience with Azure

- Expertise and significant experience and champions the preference to work with "Infrastructure as Code" - terraform OR BICEP

- Expertise and significant experience with full cloud networking

- Expertise and significant experience working with "Infrastructure as Code" templating tooling (e.g. Puppet, Chef, Ansible).

- Expertise and significant experience with CI/CD tooling & practices (e.g. Github, ADO, Jenkins, TeamCity, automation techniques).

- Experienced with scripting languages/tools like either Bash, Ruby, Python.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in financial services or highly regulated environments. As a full-time member of our team, you will be responsible for leading our platform engineering efforts, ensuring that our cloud platform is always performing at its best.

In this role, you will work closely with other members of our team to ensure that we are meeting all of our platform engineering goals. You will be responsible for managing and mentoring junior engineers, providing guidance on best practices, and staying up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies.
