We are an established family bakery with a taste for quality, having created delicious products for over 75 years. Our organisation produces baked goods for retail and food service, specialising in cake and sweet pastry tart products.

We supply all major UK retailers with ambient Free From ranges and a number of leading Coffee Shop Chains with ambient and frozen ranges. We operate two bakeries: A conventional Bakery and a dedicated Gluten, Wheat and Milk Free Bakery avoiding 12 out of the 14 notable allergens.

Bakery Concept Developer - The Role:

Are you passionate about creating innovative and delicious bakery products? Join our team as a Bakery Concept Developer, where you'll bring exciting ideas to life - from kitchen concept to customer presentation and into production trials. With innovation at the core of our business, this role offers you the unique opportunity to shape the future of our product range.

Bakery Concept Developer - Key Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with the commercial team on customer development briefs, as well as internal and original concept ideas

- Develop innovative bakery concepts, transforming ideas into kitchen samples that meet recipe costing requirements

- Present new products and concepts to customers and internal teams with professionalism and creativity

- Work with the NPD Coordinator and Procurement Manager to source unique ingredients that align with customer needs and enhance product offerings

- Coordinate with process technologists, operations, and the wider team to assess feasibility for scaling up products, conducting trials as needed to identify potential challenges

- Finalise recipes and quality standards post-customer approval, preparing detailed documentation and obtaining technical sign-off before initiating trials

- Support the Commercial Managers by providing insights into emerging product trends and flavour combinations, integrating these findings into concept development

Stay informed on market trends and share insights with the NPD team to fuel ongoing innovation

Bakery Concept Developer - You & Experience:

- Strong knowledge of current food and bakery trends, with a passion for innovation

- Proven experience in presenting creative ideas to customers, supported by relevant research and insights

- Ability to thrive under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a dynamic environment

- Hands-on experience in recipe development, ideally within a professional kitchen or manufacturing setting

- Familiarity with Quality and Technical standards in a manufacturing environment is a strong asset

- Flexible and highly motivated team player who is methodical, target-oriented, and adaptable to new information and processes

Professional Qualifications:

Degree or diploma in a food related discipline such as food science, food technology, bakery skills, product development, nutrition or similar is highly desirable.
