Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer.

Orion is partnered with a fast-paced manufacturing company located in Langwathby. We are recruiting for a self-sufficient, confident, and diligent to work as the Mechanically Biased Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer.

The ideal candidate will be Mechanically biased as 80% of the issues on site are of a mechanical nature. We are looking for someone driven and ambitious to help drive the company towards manufacturing excellence.

Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer Duties:

  • Reactive maintenance of medium & heavy plant machinery Conveyors, mills, compactors pelletizers, hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, sensors, relays etc..
  • Mechanical maintenance 80% electrical maintenance 20%
  • PPMs
  • Line improvement tasks
  • Fault finding using PLCs
  • Can read and work from electrical schematics
  • The provision and implementation of solutions in line with the engineering strategy to reduce downtime
  • Use of root cause analysis to determine the underlying reasons behind problems and failures, seeking to identify areas for improvement in plant performance.
  • Continually drive towards a PPM culture
  • To assist in setting of machines in conjunction with the operations team
  • The provision of a first-class engineering service

Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer Required Experience :

  • Time served apprenticeship ideally
  • Mechanical qualifications from a recognised body
  • NVQ level 3 or BTEC L3 or equivalent
  • Electrical fault-finding skills
  • PLC experience
  • Machinery maintenance (PPMs and reactive)
  • Both mechanical & electrical machinery maintenance
  • FMCG or heavy industrial machinery experience
  • Continuous improvement projects
