Our client is a food manufacturing company based in Cumbria (The Lake District).  The company continues to grow its footprint both in the UK and internationally.  The ongoing growth and ambitious plans of the company have led to the creation of a new ‘buyer’ role in the procurement function. This will be a broad role with a great deal of variety and the responsibilities will include: 
  • Supporting and implementing a procurement strategy.
  • Conducting supplier negotiations to secure best price, quantity, delivery, and terms.
  • Supporting and leading tenders, projects, implementing procedures, and running meetings. 
  • Compiling and analysing data related to purchasing activity to support the decision-making.
  • Supporting New Product Development, helping to bring products from concept to market.
  • Monitoring and managing supplier performance, including quality and delivery.
