Part-Time Company Bookkeeper - Falmouth / Hybrid - Up to £40k FTE (DOE)

It sounds cliché to say that "no two jobs are the same" when in reality we often work on roles that share many similarities. However in this instance, it’s fair to say that this isn’t a run-of-the-mill Company Bookkeeper position. The nature of the business and what this role will involve, makes this an extremely interesting proposition...

Trial Balance are delighted to have formed an exclusive arrangement with a new client, a well-established and exciting marine business based in Falmouth. They seek to employ a Company Bookkeeper on a permanent and part-time basis. The role will be 30 hours, which can be worked to suit, and there is also a generous hybrid working policy in place too.

This is a brand-new position for the company, which will see the successful candidate work alongside both an experienced FC and MD. The role will also collaborate with offices globally, so this will be a fast-paced and varied role. Key responsibilities to include:

- Day-to-day management of the finance function using Xero

- Management of the accounts payable and receivable functions

- Inter-company invoicing

- Responsibility for payroll and pension processing

- Profit and Loss analysis

- Bank reconciliations

- VAT Returns

- Other ad-hoc duties as required in the office

This is quite a large role which will require someone to be able to hit the ground running. This is an important hire for this client and to be able to find the right person, they have put as few essential requirements in place as possible. They are refreshingly open-minded where qualifications are concerned and whilst Xero expertise is preferred, all system experience will be taken into consideration.

The role will collaborate with a number of different offices both in the UK and globally, so good communication skills are a must. Whilst there is support on offer, the successful candidate will be largely left alone to manage their workload, so working to deadlines and managing priorities will be key.
