Environmental, Health and Safety Lead - UK & Europe

Are you an experienced Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) professional looking to take your career to the next level? About the Role

The EHS Lead will oversee the implementation and management of comprehensive environmental, health, and safety programs, ensuring compliance with local, national, and European regulations. This role oversees three sites across the UK, Netherlands, and Germany, demanding strategic vision, proactive management, and a strong commitment to cultivating a positive safety culture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement EHS strategies and programs to create a safe work environment and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Lead risk assessments, audits, and reviews to enhance Health & Safety performance across all three sites.
  • Promote behavioral safety initiatives to build a strong safety culture among employees and contractors.
  • Manage emergency response teams, first aid programs, and incident management systems.
  • Provide tailored Health & Safety training to meet UK, European, and corporate standards.
  • Analyse performance data and trends to drive continuous improvement in EHS practices.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, offering insights to operational teams on managing hazards effectively.
  • Lead and develop Safety and Health personnel, fostering high levels of employee engagement.
  • Oversee and manage the EHS budget, ensuring alignment with financial targets.
Travel Requirement

This role involves travel to sites in the UK, The Netherlands, and Germany to ensure consistent EHS program implementation and support.

About You

Qualifications & Experience

  • NEBOSH, IEMA, IOSH, COSHH, or equivalent qualifications.
  • 3-5 years of experience in an EHS role within a manufacturing or medical device environment.
  • Strong knowledge of UK and European Health & Safety legislation. Awareness of USA OSHA standards is a bonus.

Skills & Attributes

  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint (advanced skills preferred).
  • Skilled in statistical methods and data analysis.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and motivational skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Proven ability to design and deliver impactful training programs.

Work Environment
