Assistant Management Accountant

Butler Rose are recruiting for an exciting new job opportunity to work as an Assistant Management Accountant with a well known and established business based in Penzance.

Working closely with the Finance Manager and the wider business your responsibilities will include:

• Maintenance of the fixed asset registers and posting of depreciation, additions and disposals.
• Assisting with the preparation of the monthly Management Accounts.
• Preparation of year-end accounts inc. supporting papers and assist in resolving queries from external accountants.
• Budgeting process,
• Preparation of quarterly VAT returns,
• Intercompany reporting and clearance of balances.
• Responding to queries and providing financial information as required.
• Maintenance of accounting records in Sage & any other relevant subsidiary systems
• Maintenance & review of the sales ledger, raising of invoices and recording of income, chasing any receipts due.
• Maintenance & review of the purchase ledger.
• Weekly bank reconciliations.
• Monthly balance sheet reconciliations.

The successful candidate will be an accounting professional with experience in a similar role. Study towards a recognised accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, AAT) would be beneficial however not essential. Candidates must be strong users of Excel and accounting software. Good communication skills and the ability to present financial data to partners across the business is essential.
