Overview:
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated BIM/CAD Technician to join our client's dynamic team in Edinburgh. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing accurate and high-quality 2D/3D models, drawings, and designs within the Building Services sector. This role requires proficiency in Building Information Modelling (BIM) and Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools to support the planning, design, and construction phases of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce and modify 2D and 3D technical drawings and models using CAD and BIM software (Revit, AutoCAD, etc.) to meet project requirements.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to develop and refine designs.
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of digital models for various building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, etc.).
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and client specifications.
  • Conduct clash detection and provide design coordination to minimise construction issues.
  • Update and maintain as-built drawings during the project life cycle.
  • Support the implementation of BIM work flows and ensure consistent application across projects.
  • Prepare and manage project documentation, including design specifications, drawings, and reports.
  • Provide support during the tender and construction phases of projects, ensuring timely and accurate design information is provided.
  • Coordinate with the wider team to ensure designs are fully integrated across disciplines.
  • Participate in design reviews and site visits as required to gather information for design development.
