Are you an experienced Security Engineer ?

Have you worked in the Energy or Utilities sector ?

Do you have experience with digital systems that keep the lights on, SCADA and Distributed Control Systems ?

If so I have a fantastic new role with a leading energy company who have significant growth plans.

In this role you will be overseeing new and changed digital systems to embed security by design.

There is an expectation to be in your local office a day a week and to pay visits to additional sites when needed. Offices include Perth, Aberdeen and Inverness. (Driving licence and own transport is essential)

You also need to be eligible to go through security clearance so must have lived and worked in the UK for the last 5 years.

Responsibilities include:

  • Support projects in cyber risk management and the identification, specification, design and implementation of appropriate cyber security controls.
  • Communicate security risks and solutions to others through design reviews, factory security testing and site acceptance testing.
  • Develop, review and update existing policy and procedures covering cyber security
  • Be seen as a security expert and contribute to discussions and consultations with various teams within the business
  • Become skilled in the installation, development, and maintenance, of the security toolset used. This includes monitoring tools, log consolidation tools, and network security technologies.

Your experience should include:

  • Experience working within an Operational Technology (OT) or Distributed Control System (DCS) environment
  • Working understanding of the function and criticality of such systems.
  • Experience designing and implementing security controls for OT environments,
  • Ability to work on own initiative and manage workload with minimal input from others.
  • Professional security certification, such as a Global Industry Cyber Security Professional Certification (GICSP) or ability to achieve certification within eighteen months, is desired.
  • OG86 or IEC62443 certification highly advantageous
