We are seeking an experienced Environment & Sustainability Advisor to join our clients team in Perth. This role is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and knowledgeable professional with deep Civil Engineering/ Utilities experienceto drive environmental compliance, sustainability initiatives, and best practices across our operations.

The Role
As an Environment & Sustainability Advisor, you will play a key role in ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, minimising environmental impact, and fostering a culture of sustainability. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining Environmental Management Systems (EMS) to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and standards.
  • Conducting environmental audits, inspections, and assessments to identify risks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Providing expert guidance to internal teams on environmental best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborating with operations, engineering, and health and safety teams to integrate environmental considerations into decision-making.
  • Monitoring environmental performance, analysing data, and preparing reports for management review.
  • Coordinating with regulatory bodies and third-party consultants on environmental compliance, permitting, and reporting.
  • Developing and delivering environmental training programmes and awareness initiatives.
  • Assisting in environmental impact assessments (EIAs) and management plans for new projects.
  • Staying up to date with environmental legislation, emerging trends, and sustainability innovations.
  • Supporting the development and implementation of sustainability targets and initiatives.
What Were Looking For
  • A degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 3.5 years of ESG Experience in Water, Civils or General Utilities
  • Professional certifications such as IEMA or NEBOSH are required.
  • Proven experience in environmental management or sustainability, ideally within the CivilEngineering and Utilities sectors.
  • Strong understanding of UK environmental legislation and industry best practices.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret and report on environmental data.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Experience with environmental management software is advantageous.
  • Flexibility to travel occasionally to company sites and project locations as required and a full UK driving licence.
