Solution Architect

£700 - £750/day inside IR35

Lorien's Utilities client are currently recruiting for a Solution Architect to join on a 6 month initial contract, inside IR35.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing high level solution architectures that align to the overall strategy, at project and work stream level, working in close collaboration with business and technical specialists.
  • Ensuring that solutions are fully modelling and accessible for use in future changes or ongoing operations.
  • Contribute to an effective solution assurance and governance function that ensures we deliver the right solutions, and that key decisions are agreed by stakeholders from a range of disciplines.

The successful candidate will have the following skills/knowledge:

  • A general solution architect with a focus on applications, data, security and operational viewpoints, rather than a technical or infrastructure specialist.
  • A background in a solution development or delivery role, with experience of both agile and waterfall delivery methods, and an understanding of the priorities and challenges across the full system lifecycle.
  • A structured and methodical approach (e.g. TOGAF) to solutioning, and able to lead discussions and influence stakeholders who are used to operating with less structured approaches.
  • Experience of working in procurement processes to specify solutions through tenders and evaluate supplier proposals.
  • The ability to present content at both a strategic level, and to deliver more focussed design decisions, with the authority that comes from a deep and broad technical knowledge.
  • Experience of capability based modelling, and developing future scenarios in an EA Modelling tool
  • Specific technology/subject experience in any of the following areas would be advantageous:
    • Oracle Primavera Applications (Unifier, P6, Integration Gateway)
    • AutoDesk Construction Cloud or similar design collaboration suites
    • Azure Integration Services
    • SaaS solution integrations
    • Modelling solutions using ArchiMate
