Robert Half is recruiting for a Group Financial Controller to join a business based close to Peterborough.

As the Group Financial Controller you will reporting to the Finance Director and will be responsible for the day to day management for the finance function. You will be a key member of the finance senior leadershp team and will be responsible for regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecast preparation, and the development of internal control policies and procedures

Duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Preparing and issuing monthly financial statements.
  • Overseeing the statutory audit process annually.
  • Managing all financial and accounting operations.
  • Supervising financial control activities, including monthly and quarterly reviews, analysis, and disclosures.
  • Leading the preparation of budgets, financial forecasts, and variance reporting.
  • Managing and supporting key accounting operations such as Billing, Payroll, Credit Control, and Revenue Recognition.Coordinating the preparation of regulatory reports.
  • Assisting with month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Analysing budget trends, identifying gaps, and reporting variances to senior management.
  • Researching technical accounting issues to ensure compliance and align with best practices.
  • Developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls.
  • Contributing to change management efforts, including reviewing and updating policies and systems as needed.
  • Delivering accurate and comprehensive financial data to executive leadership for informed decision-making and strategic planning

Experience required:

  • Qualified Accountant
  • Proven working experience in a a senior finance role
  • 6 + years experience
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  • Strong analytical skills to analyse financial reports
