Battery Validation Engineer to be based in Cambridgeshire working on battery systems for hybrid and alternative fuel heavy vehicles.

We work with a world leader in heavy equipment who are focusing on innovative, sustainable solutions for heavy vehicles. They are engaging with green initiatives, poverty reduction, and community involvement. The successful applicant will join the electrification & energy solutions battery development team, to develop and validate battery pack and electrical systems used in both the company products, as well as third-party applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed battery pack test plans based on system requirements, legislation, and risk assessments (DFMEAs).
  • Collaborate with internal and external test providers to finalise plans, document tests, and agree on schedules.
  • Ensure tests are completed with necessary documentation for certification.
  • Fault-find and assist with root cause investigation, working with cross-functional teams.
  • Manage and maintain risk assessments (DFMEAs) and risk reduction glide paths.
  • Create and maintain validation plans and test procedures.
  • Support test-bed and in-field validation issues.
  • Communicate validation status to customers and team members.
  • Stay updated on new battery technologies, testing techniques, and legislation.


Skills and Experience:

  • Accredited Bachelor's Degree within engineering, computer science, or related fields.
  • 2+ years of high voltage battery validation experience with solid battery system knowledge.
  • Data analysis skills for test sign-off and fault-finding.
  • Proven skills in root cause analysis and issue resolution.
  • Enthusiasm for growing validation skills in a global engineering team.
  • Self-starter with good problem-solving and planning abilities.
  • Adaptability to dynamic priority changes while maintaining process discipline.


The contract on offer:-

Pay Rate: 25-30ph PAYE
Holiday: 25 days holiday plus 8 BH
Notice Period: 2 weeks notice by either party
Working Week: 5 days a week 8:30-16:45 Monday to Friday.
Duration: 12 months contract with the option to renew.
Location: Near Peterborough Cambridgeshire.
Hybrid working: Fully on site at beginning with flexibility once proven capable and client relationship is built to three days on site and two at home.
