Job Role: Validation Engineer
Are you an experienced engineer with a passion for testing, validation, and problem-solving? We are seeking a skilled Validation Engineer to join our team and take responsibility for end-to-end validation processes. This is an excellent opportunity to work on exciting projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure product reliability and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop system & component validation plans (DVP - Design Verification Plan) based on risk assessments from DFMEAs (Design Failure Mode & Effect Analysis).
Oversee the entire validation process, including:
Defining test requirements and specifying engine build & instrumentation needs in collaboration with engineering teams.
Managing various testing methods, including:
Engine dyno testing: endurance, functionality, cold ambient, gradeability, noise & vibration.
Machine testing: overseeing validation test work on internal machines.
Working closely with test engineers to execute tests, analyze engine data, and drive decision-making.
Ensuring timely completion of activities within agreed deadlines.
Documenting test results, drawing conclusions, updating DFMEAs, and making recommendations for improvements.
Required Skills and Experience:
Engineering or STEM degree qualification.
Experience working within cross-functional teams to define test requirements.
Demonstrated experience in engine or machine development (or similar fields).
Strong troubleshooting skills to resolve build and test issues, working with component owners and test engineers.
Proficiency in analyzing engine data to drive business decisions with clear, concise conclusions.
Structured approach to problem-solving.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Desired Skills and Experience:
Experience with industrial diesel engine applications, construction machinery, or generating sets.
Knowledge of Proactive Reliability and Product Quality demonstration.
Experience in DFMEA facilitation, creation, and validation planning.
Proven project management experience related to diesel engine development.
Familiarity with Six Sigma methodology and continuous process improvement.
